I love to try new things, and I love to meet new clients because I know they will love the pictures I give them. Last month (August) was National Breastfeeding Awareness month, and because I value this gift that moms give their children I thought it would be great to donate a photo session for a nursing mom.

I had never shot a session like this before but – like I said – I love to try new things. So, even though my specialty is not as a breastfeeding photographer, I put a model call out on Facebook and I met Melissa. She was currently breastfeeding her son, Mr. A, who was 7 weeks old at the time. When I got to her house, the lighting and the setting was just perfect. Mr. A ate like a champ and never fussed once! It’s amazing to me how our bodies were created so perfectly to nourish babies with exactly the food they need. I’ve had my own successes and failures with breastfeeding, so seeing a mom so comfortable and successful with her and her child’s nursing situation makes me so very happy.

Without further ado, Melissa and Mr. A

I’m so grateful that I was able to do a session like this for Melissa, to show the world how natural and honest and beautiful breastfeeding truly is.
